I got a few friends asking, what is that SEO? Is it important? Required? Really? I think this is a good start for starting my own version of SEO tips and tricks that worth to follow by the webmasters, bloggers, online entrepreneurs and web designers.

SEO is the acronym of Search Engine Optimization in the internet industry.
Nowadays, the “big brother” in the internet was the search engines. They acts as the gateway portal to surf across the cyberspace. They are Google, Yahoo, MSN Live Search and etc. where the users used them to find all information across the internet. At the first step when you introduced to the internet, weren’t search engines being introduced at first?
For the successful websites in the internet search engines are the source of their lives. The search engines feed them with thousands visitors everyday. Without sufficient ammount of visitors to the website, the website probably has failed to serve it purpose… either failed to sell the commerce product and services or failed to gather the advertisers.
As the internet has become very competitive in certain industry, too much websites are competing to be ranked high in search engine search result page (SERP). The ultra competitive competition has become a war (SEO Wars) between website publishers. Everyone want to win and being ranked first on the SERP first page.
Nobody want to be listed on the 2nd, 3rd, and so on, because the last being listed the less chance to be choosed by the visitors. Each time you searched at Google about something you must have noticed “Results 1 - 10 of about 4,760 of … eg SimplyBuzz. The website at the first page considered high ranked for the term SimplyBuzz. SimplyBuzz was ranked at the first page because this site has been targeted for this keyword. But try to search keyword “seo”… you won’t find this article from search engines as this site wasn’t targeted for the keyword “seo” yet (but, you supposed to weren’t you?) . It’s probably listed within 139,000,000 results… can you guest the position?
There are some techniques used by the search engines to determine the websites to be listed. Webmasters taking advantage of search engines attributes that generates the results. On the early of internet era, search engines are looking for certain text in the websites, while now on the 21st century, search engines are looking for external factors such as websites authority to rank the results.
So, the SEO industry (remember this wasn’t like company CEO, ok…) it it’s a process of generating traffic for a website from organic source as marketing strategy of a website. SEO process includes considering how search engines robot (web-bot or webcrawler) to index the pages and working on task which are legitimate or sometimes illegal or considered “black hat”.
