On March 14, engineers displayed the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST), a superconducting experimental fusion device. Nicknamed as the “artificial sun,” EAST is the world’s first all-superconducting Tokamak designed and developed by China.
According to the People’s Daily, EAST has effectively completed its first engineering adjustment, which lays groundwork for its operation and state appraisal by the end of 2006. The full superconducting experimental Tokamak fusion device can produce infinite, clean nuclear-fusion-based energy. It will be built in March or April in Hefei.
What Actually Artificial Sun?
- producing heat equally to sun Sun’s heat
- its actually a nuclear reactor, but in fusion based.
- it is clean, radiation controlled by the fusion reactor,
- no need to worry about explosion like Chearnobyl, fusion reactor act like fuse to terminate the chain of reaction.
